About the Caucus
The Congressional Coffee Caucus provides a forum to uplift coffee’s positive impact on the U.S. economy, advance health research into the benefits of coffee for consumers, and strengthen the resilience of the global coffee supply chain, including U.S. and global coffee farmers and distributors.
Every district in the United States has a coffee shop, coffee roastery, and/or grows coffee. More than 150 million Americans drink more than 400 million cups of coffee a day.
Focus Areas of the Caucus include:
- Agricultural Resilience: Strengthening and increasing research and development (R&D) funding to assist coffee farmers, both domestically (including in Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and globally.
- Healthy Diets: Advancing the development of scientific research into the health benefits of drinking coffee.
- Economic Development: Prioritizing coffee in trade and economic policy to support a strong U.S. coffee market, resilient supply chain, and broad-based social and economic development in coffee-growing countries that advance U.S. national security interests.
