Hawaii congress members Rep. Jill Tokuda and Sen. Mazie K. Hirono have joined forces to offer immediate assistance and support to the communities affected by the Maui fires.
In a joint press release, Tokuda and Hirono announced a federal resource fair scheduled for Aug. 26 in Lahaina from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The resource fair aims to provide aid to residents who have been impacted by the fires, offering a wide array of essential services to alleviate the hardships they face.
Tokuda and Senator Hirono, along with their staffers, will be present at the fair to engage with attendees and ensure that their concerns are addressed.
The following federal agencies will be participating in the resource fair:
- The State Department: Passport Replacement *Individuals are able to print out the application online and bring a photo to expedite the process. These resources will also be provided on site.
- FEMA: Disaster Aid
- Department of Housing and Urban Development: Housing Assistance
- The Social Security Administration: Social Security Card Replacement
- U.S. Postal Service (USPS): Mail Services
- Veterans Affairs Pacific Island Health Care System: VA Health Care Support
- Veterans Benefits Administration: Veterans Claims Support
- Small Business Administration: Small Business Support
- Hawaiʻi Disability Rights Center: Legal and Advocacy Services
- Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs: Banking and Insurance
