Speech at Democratic Leadership Conference on 13th Anniversary of Affordable Care Act

Representative Jill Tokuda (HI-02) joined House Democratic Chair Pete Aguilar and Vice Chair Ted Lieu for a press conference with Rep. Glenn Ivey (MD-04) to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Tokuda covered Hawai?i’s Prepaid Health Care Act, which passed in 1974, guaranteeing employer-sponsored health coverage for most employees in Hawai?i that helped pave the way for the ACA. Today, Hawai?i has one of the lowest uninsured rates and remains among the healthiest in the nation.
